A third show since September (whew!!). This is a show of all DCCCD Art Faculty and Staff at the 500X Gallery. RECEPTION: Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at 500X, 6-10 pm. Open to the public.
Nov. 6, 2007 - January 6 (?), 2008, City Reflections II
The City Reflections series is in another show sponsored by the ArtWorks program of the NTBCA. This show has been installed at The Metropolitan, 1200 Main Street, Dallas. Reception: Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, 6-8 pm., in the lobby of The Metropolitan. Open to the public. Please Contact the Artist for an invitation and other information.
Barbara was a "signer" at the 2007 EASL Coloring Book launch party on Sept. 19th, 2007, at the Craighead Green Gallery in Dallas, TX. (I contributed a dragon drawing for the coloring book.) For more info you can also visit the EASL website at http://www.easl.us

Barbara paints and sometimes works in 3D. Her painting subjects range from reflective cityscapes, to realistic skyscapes and cloud paintings, to dragons and other beasties in the sky, the garden and in the Zodiac. Visit the SBD Collections tab and look in the areas with a B before the name of the collection. Barbara Armstrong, adjunct instructor and instructional associate of the ECC Art Department.
Dean sculpts in wire and resin and does life castings. He also creates and teaches Stage Makeup, which includes creating full-face and partial prosthetic makeup pieces. He recently created a specialty old-age mask as a commission project. Dean teaches humanities, video production, puppeteering, and of course Theatre - his first artistic love. He is currently participating in a course redesign of the Humanities courses taught in the DCCCD. This includes writing parts of two chapters of the supplementary text.
Shirley is an art photographer. She works with black and white and infrared film and some digital imaging. More work has been added to her Collection. Her focus is currently on Zoe Marie White, who is now a 14 month old handful!

Biography
Armstrong SBD Arts is a family of artists.SHIRLEY ARMSTRONG-WHITE began doing photography in 1999. She prefers to work with manual cameras, but has recently branched out into digital photography and digital imaging as well. She seeks the unusual point of view in her work, focusing on figure studies and environmental images. Shirley's photography includes black and white art photography including infra-red, and digitally altered collages of her originals and some digital photography. Zoe Marie is their newest art work collaboration.
BARBARA ARMSTRONG has a BFA in Painting. She works mostly in watercolors and acrylics, ranging in style from abstract to representational. Series include abstract cityscapes, representational still life and florals,and a series of dragons in the garden. The most recent active collections are Cloud Dreaming and City Reflections. Barbara is a college art instructor and freelance theater designer. Commissions possible for all painting types - email me please.

DEAN ARMSTRONG has an MA in Theater Directing. Dean's interests range widely, including sculpture, puppet making and performance, jewelry making, to live theater and video. As of Spring 2007, he is also teaching a TV Production class at El Centro College.
He began working in 3D art in a jewelry and small metals class. His sculpture is figurative and most often created in wire. He also makes art jewelry. Dean's sculptures and jewelry come from his unique vision of the world.
Dean worked with a marionette company a few years ago and found puppetry to be and new and interesting passion. He both builds and performs with puppets. The puppets are unique too, and may be created on a custom basis. Please email the artist for details.
