To make art is to sing with the Human voice. To do this, you must first learn that the only voice you need is the voice you already have.
Art work is ordinary work, but it takes courage to embrace that work and wisdom to mediate the interplay of art & fear. Sometimes to see your work's rightful place, you have to walk to the edge of the precipice and search the deep chasms. You have to see that the universe is not formless and dark throughout, but awaits simply the revealing light of your own mind.

Biography
One of life's important lessons…"Listen to your body because eventually, as much as we deny its wishes, the body will have its way." Cyndy Baran's lengthy journey to art making is testament to this truth.Although she demonstrated an interest in art at an early age, such "nonsense" wasn't encouraged for this Midwestern farm girl. So, suppressing her artistic itch, Cyndy pursued a business career in Human Resources. However, after numerous relocations and years of corporate ladder climbing, the creative itch returned. For those not familiar with "the itch", it is the body's way of communicating with our brain telling us that something isn't right with our physical and emotional world.
So in 2001 after 25+ years in the business world, Cyndy left the comfort of her corporate career to pursue her creative ambitions, first in Interior Design and then in Fine Art. She has studied Fine Art at Watkins College of Art&Design in Nashville, TN and Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. She continues to improve her art-making skills through workshops with recognized regional and national artists.
"There is a real dichotomy in my art-making", says the Artist. "I express my emotions and cerebral concerns using Graphite on paper and I express my joy through high chroma, expressive, oil painting. Although both art forms are intrinsically satisfying, they challenge my visual and intellectual processes in very different ways."
Most importantly, Cyndy has discovered that the process of expressing herself through art satisfies her soul on a deep level, and it keeps that nasty itch at bay.
