Biography
My lifelong love of the natural world is something that I always try to share with others. Nature has always been able to humble me and put my world back into perspective. When I was in my teens I developed a passion for photography, mixed with my love for nature, the outdoor photographer was born. My passion for the outdoors may have been instilled in me mainly from the fact that I grew up in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. A place that on any given day, I can take a few steps off of my porch, and have at least a handful of excellent photo opportunities. All of this led me to The New York Institute of Photography, from which I earned my professional photography diploma. In March of 2006 my husband, Dylan and I opened Nostalgic Images, in Kirby Vermont. In October of 2008 I won 2nd place in the Kirby Landscapes Photo Contest. I currently sell fine art prints, on archival quality paper here on my website. There are many sizes available, contact me for custom sizing, or framing and matting pricing. I also sell my photos in greeting cards, which can be found in shops in my area (see links), or you can click the contact the artist link and let me know what you are looking for. Up until this year, I used a Canon 35mm film SLR camera exclusively, just recently adding a Canon digital SLR to my equipment.
My goal was to give at least one person a little beauty and hope in their lives. Recently I spoke with a man who said one of my photographs did just that. I had a table of my photo greeting cards set up at a local festival, a gentleman approached and asked me if I was the photographer. Upon hearing that indeed I was, he then told me he had purchased my card of spring daffodils. He also let me know how much it had helped him through one of the hardest times of his life, during his cancer treatment. It was winter when he bought the card, he took it home and placed it on his mantel. He told me that it gave him something to look forward to. A little color in one of his darkest times. Being a person who has lost a loved one to cancer, this knowledge deeply moved me. Since then I have made it my goal to share the beauty of nature, through exposure to photographs with as many people as possible. I believe this website is a step in that direction. I hope you enjoy the beauty of the natural world through my lens.
