Biography
Frank was born July 11, 1956 and is a native Tennessean with a passion for the outdoors. With a major in art at Waverly Central High School, he used his knowledge of art as a portion of his income during his enlistment in the United States Air Force stationed at San Beradino, California for 4 years. A sawmill operator and logger at Inland Container Corporation for 5 years. Presently employeed by E.I. Dupont for over 29 years, he has commercial fished on the Tennessee River for several years for additional income. He is an avid equine enthusiast of the Tennessee Walking Horse. Combining his artistry with such hobbies as hunting, fishing, boating, equine, photography, and woodworking, Frank has encountered many experiences that fullfill his love of nature, and adventure. One of the highlights of his life as an artist was in March of 2008 at the National Wild Turkey Convention in his home town of Waverly, Tennessee. A outstanding charter member of NWTF and long time friend of Frank's named George Bass died. In his honor, the George Bass Scholarship Fund was founded and donations from both the NWTF and others foundation members has funded a college education for a youngster in the Waverly area. Frank painted a painting named "Bearcreek's Boss" and donated it for auction at the convention, and all proceeds went into the scholarship fund.
Other paintings have been painted and donated to the Ducks Unlimited Consveration Fund and all proceeds were used for the protection of America's Wetlands. Conservation is a deep concern to Frank, as vast tracts of land that were once thriving with wildlife are slowly becomming parking lots, or even cities. The Ducks Unlimited Tennessee State Convention will be on May 30th 2008 at Paris Landing State Park located just outside of Paris, Tennessee. Frank will be exhibiting a newly released painting titled "Bearcreek Mallard" during the Convention. The painting will be donated, and auctioned during the Banquet Awards. All proceeds will be used by Ducks Unlimited for preservation of America's Wetlands.
Throughout the years he has been commissioned for several pieces of work. Many of his works include murals and are in private homes, or in private businesses such as resturants, and in churches. From his studio in Waverly, he has taught private classes and many of his students have become successful artists as well. He has conducted many one man shows in Tennessee as well as in San Beradino, California.
