Biography

Mallory Agerton paints traditional landscapes and portraits either in oil or pastels. She received a BFA from the University of Texas in Austin and later studied at the Art Students League in New York City under Robert Beverly Hale and David Leffel. She has also studied with landscape artists, Kim English, Brian Blood, and Skip Whitcomb. Her paintings have been featured in exhibitions in Houston galleries and recently Signature Magazine. In addition she has exhibited with the Atlanta Portrait Society and the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in New York City. Mallory has completed over a hundred commissions for clients from East to West Coast. She is a member of The Oil Painters of America.

As an artist, Mallory works from a combination of photographs and life. Her preference for landscapes is to work "plein air," setting up a small easel out doors and working directly from the scene, using small canvas panels. She then returns to her studio and begins the larger works from the study and digital photographs. Mallory has enjoyed painting in Texas, Colorado, Michigan, North Carolina, California, Arizona, and England.
