I strive to present paintings that are pleasing to look at and expressive of mood and animal.
I became a member of Oil Painters of America in 2006. I am pleased to announce that I have been accepted as a finalist in the Salon International competition with the painting I have displayed on this page. The name of the painting is Head On. This painting will also be advertisted in the American Art Collector magazine in the April issue.
My goal for this year was to achieve a level where I could be proud to show my work in a gallery, well that time has come. I have been accepted into the Fredericksburg Art Gallery in Texas. This is truly a dream come true. I will be shipping smaller paintings right away, and will be given a 90 day trial. I am so grateful for this opportunity. I will not compete with them online, so will no longer sell off this site.
Biography
I am self-taught yet learn from many sources including books, other artists, along with lots of practice and persistence.I attempt to stir compassion. My education includes four years of college majoring in art history and criminal justice. My father was a strict military man with a soft spot for animals. I am beholding to him for the empathy. Actually it's more than empathy, but I'm not articulate enough to explain it, that is why I try to paint it. My desire is to communicate an appreciation for how special and beautiful they all are.

If you missed it on my front page, I am very proud that I have been accepted into the Salon International Competition at the Greenhouse Art Gallery. This is a great honor. I haven't been painting that long, so hope to live up to being selected by this stiff competition. The painting chosen is "Head On". I am taking out an ad in the American Art Collector. I support numerous charity causes for animals, uppermost is the Farm Sanctuary in Northern California. They do an outstanding job of not only rescuing, but providing a high quality of life so the animals can live out their lives in comfort and safety.
