Peter Billman died on Wednesday June 14, 2006. A Hudson Valley Plein Air Painter, he drew on the abundant beauty of the Hudson River. Peter's paintings captured the many moods, essence of place and richness of the Hudson Valley and its environs. His paintings had an element of the new Hudson River School with a contemporary appeal.

His art leaves a legacy for all of us to enjoy. But many of us will remember the soft spoken man with the twinkle in his eye and his amazing presence. He gave us great art, and he also taught us a great deal about living against odds. He will be missed.

Biography

The top photograph shows the addition of a new studio space from the back of the house. The lower photograph shows the front of the house with the roof complete and all the chimneys raised four feet. The new top floor provides a spectacular view of the Hudson River. The house serves as an elegant and artist friendly Bed and Breakfast as well as a gallery for Peter's paintings.
